The Cape Breton Fudge Co. / Island Arts Café Presents another amazing night of music with three fantastic performers.
A powerful performer with smoky vocals and an undeniable stage presence, Kim Wempe has been tearing up highways and stomping her way across every stage in the country. A winner at the 2010 ECMA’s and nominee at the 2011 and 2014 ECMA’s, Kim Wempe’s newest album Coalition is a big, bold, unapologetic leap into a whole new sound. It puts her vocals in the driver’s seat and her spirit in the spotlight.
Wempe has been on her feet touring across Canada, the U.S.A., and Australia for the past year and brings her wealth of onstage experience to Cape Breton this month. She will be joined on stage by a trio band featuring Cape Breton musicians Keith Mullins and Carmel Mikol. This summer, she and her band will also appear at Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and the legendary Mariposa Folk Festival in Orillia, Ontario.
Keith Mullins and Carmel Mikol will open the show with songs of their own before joining Wempe for a set featuring songs from her new album Coalition.
