Dyscontrol is the newest project fueled by CB’s own Lachie MacDonald (Horses, 77 Impala Special, Pulse). Acerbic, white-knuckled punk rock in the shape of a looming, igneous monolith. No gimmicks. No vinegar or piss. These boys mean business.
Hash Jesus are the defiant middle child of the Tom Fun family. With loud guitars spewing bass heavy licks and feedback, drums that pound rhythms into your frontal lobe, and half sung/half yelled words that feed the frenzy, you end up with an intense rock show that’s never predictable.
Yellow is a personification of the disconnect between sweet, well-sung songs and aggressive rock’n’roll. Chalk-full of licks that make your head spin, these folk have every reason to be the most talked about band in 2014. Yellow reunited in 2013 with a lineup that features a who’s who in local music. Fronted by Alicia Penney (Static in Action/Tom Fun), the aggressive rock band features Jason Burke (The Shithawks) and Mike Morrison (Rock Ranger/Sunfish) on the other two guitars, Harry Doyle (Static in Action/Tilted) on bass, and Devon Strang (Slowcoaster/Tom Fun) on drums.
