Since the Thanksgiving Day flood, the Cape Breton music community has been pulling together to help the victims of the disaster rebuild their lives. Under the brand #Floodsgiving2016, a series of concerts and events was coordinated and produced across a number of venues in the CBRM including Breton Brewing, Flavor 19, Talo CafeBar, The Main Event and Centre 200. Pretty Archie donated proceeds from their record release to the cause, there was a solo tuba public pop-up with Earle Angus M’Lean around the Sydney Waterfront District, and even a concert staged on the mainland in Economy at the end of November featuring Jimmy Rankin, J.P. Cormier, Dave Gunning, Thom Swift and more.
While the need is ongoing, there is one more fundraising concert on the schedule, this Friday night at Centre 200 in Sydney featuring Dave Gunning, Keith Mullins and band, The Blues Merchants, The Cape Breton Chordsmen, Kyle MacDonald with Howie and Forrester Dancers, Pretty Archie, and more.
