Dan Currie is known for his stints in PEI rock acts Eyes For Telescopes and Double Ought Buckshot; best known for his electric guitar playing, but, he’s also a singer-songwriter, whose tunes paint descriptive scenes of the broken-hearted.
Katie McGarry likes to think of her latest album as country/America with a dash of folk and pop to wash it down; drawing on influences such as Emmylou Harris, Patsy Cline and Sheryl Crow. The new album is called Waiting On. It provides a satisfying serving of sweet vocals tasty country licks and contemplative lyrics that help to justify the description of her music as being timeless. The album was produced by Katie with Dan Currie, and Jon Matthews at the Sound Mill Studio in Emyvale, PE. Her first album My Side Of Town was nominated for two Music PEI Awards in 2011. Katie was also the 2011 recipient of the Lynn Grishko Bursary presented by Music PEI to a deserving emerging female artist.
Dan Baldwin may be more well known for his bass duties in Rock Ranger, Halifax’s The Grass and now with Carmen Townsend’s band, but is also an accomplished songwriter.
This should be a fantastic night of music, not to be missed.
