Pretty Archie brings their honest, heartfelt songwriting and saltwater perspective on modern living to the Strathspey Performing Arts Centre in Mabou on Thursday night. Fresh off three weeks of shows in Saskatchewan during November, the fast-rising Cape Breton Canadiana band is only home for a couple of weeks before jetting off to Scotland for the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.
It’s been a busy year for long-time friends and bandmates Brian Cathcart (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Matt McNeil (Mandolin, Guitar), Colin Gillis (Harmonica, Bass, Vocals), Redmond MacDougall (Banjo, Percussion, Vocals) and Scott MacLean (Guitar, Mandolin), recording and releasing a new album, touring all over Canada, in Germany and the Netherlands, and performing at major festivals including Tønder Festival in Denmark and Celtic Colours International Festival at home in Cape Breton.
Pretty Archie released their fourth album, Hanging On, in November along with a video for the first single, “This Whole Town”, which has been described as “…an anthem of country that sticks to your ribs with honesty and faithfulness…” by comeherefloyd.com.
