“The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge.” So begins Edgar Allan Poe’s murderous story, The Cask of Amontillado. This sinister story will be among an evening of Poe readings taking place at the McConnell Library on Saturday, October 25, starting at 7:00 PM. A fundraiser for the Cape Breton Regional Library, Amontillado Night will feature a variety of local readers who will bring to life the eerie worlds that Poe created. This will be a perfect entertainment for a dark, cold, late October evening. Tickets are $20 per person and available at the McConnell Library. Attendees must be 19 years of age or older. Refreshments will be served. For more information or to reserve tickets, please phone 902-562-3161. All funds raised go toward the programs and services of the Cape Breton Regional Library.
